Ocular Melanoma and rare cancers

Having a rare cancer within the NHS can be a nightmare and forces you to be your own advocate. With no NICE pathway to follow there is a fight for the correct follow up scans and the most advantageous first line treatment. In OM we are fed to accept the treatments outlined for cutaneous melanoma despite the documented differences. The follow-up pathway is less than satisfactory for us leading us to rely on the support structure provided by charities such as OcuMelUK
