Retest -Mind is stressful

Hi
I have taken two biosure test in span of 2 weeks and both came negative.
My window period was well over 3 months and i am really happy and my mind agrees that i don’t have HIV from my previous worry of encounter.
As i am about to relax, my mind is controlling me to take another test after 3 months since it is telling me that the first test taken is defective and that i had used launcet to prick blood which might have contacted with virus and have gone into the launcet pricked cut and entering into my bloodstream. Please help

Control line Clarification
 on 10th February 2017

Hi I had done the test and found only the control line. But i am being paranoid whether the test strip already had the control line before even inserting the buffer. Just imagining things whether i already got a faulty one shipped which has control line by default. Hope i am imagining things, but good to get it clarified. Regards Silentbull

Hi Silentbull You have nothing to worry about. The device and the lancet can only be used once and they cannot be recycled for use again. So there is absolutely no chance of you getting HIV or for that matter any other form of infectious disease from use of the BioSURE HIV Self Test. I hope that this helps to put your mind at ease. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited

Hi Gary Thanks for the email. I am not worried about the launcet. I am worried about the contact of test device with the pricked blood. What if the test device has hiv virus already and when it tries to suck my blood it delivers the hiv virus into my blood which will travel through my bloodstream on the hole made by launcet. I think i am seriously paranoid isn't?

Hi Silentbull There is absolutely no need for you to retest on the basis of the risk incident you described. There is also no way that you can have hot HIV from the lancet. It is sterile when it is delivered to you and is single use only. Once the lancet has been used the needle cannot come out again. I hope that helps to put your mind at rest. Kind regards Gary
