Testing negative using biosure 8 months after the exposure

I made the mistake of my life last year by having unprotected anal sex (i was top), it all began when I had chlamydia symptoms 2 weeks after, whereby I panicked and then quickly treated it, then I went on trying to bury it all behind me. I then learnt of the fact that I was exposed to a risk, this led to months of intense anxiety and stress, I’m only 19 and I didn’t want to be public about getting tested.

Eventually I discreetly ordered a biosure test via terrance higgins, my heart raced intensely for those 15 mins which seemed like the longest 15 mins of my life.

And then it there it was, one strong line. The incident took place on April 12th 2018 and I took the test on December 29th 2018. Now more than a year later, my worries have returned after developing some minor issues with my tongue, a Google search led me to convincing myself I have candida? Although I know I’m exaggerated..

I just want to say how much am I in the clear here? I haven’t had any sexual intercourse at all since.

Hi Needhelp2000, I hope that I am able to put your mind at rest. Given the time taken from your incident to taking your BioSURE HIV self test I can say that your negative test result is conclusive. Although Google can be amazing it can also be scary and exaggerated when searching symptoms. I would recommend not analysing your symptoms and if you have any further symptoms I would visit your GP or a GUM clinic. Thank you for choosing BioSure. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd
