Hi WC426, apologies for the confusion. You can be certain that your test has worked by the appearance of the top (negative line). This line can only appear if you have added enough blood and everything has been done correctly. The timing is not critical, but is set at 15 minutes, because although your test will run quicker, by 15 minutes the background discolouration that you see as your test runs, will have completely disappeared and the background of the strip inside your test device becomes completely white so it makes it very easy to see the line(s) and read your result correctly. There are lots of studies that have been done to see if the result changes over a period of time and all have proven our test to be very stable over a long period of time, however we recommend that you do not read your test result after 1 hour. Hi WC426. After the 15 minute wait time, 1 line would indicate a negative result and 2 lines would inidicate a positive result, if there are no lines at all then the test has not worked.
