Test at 40 days

Dear all, 33 days ago had protected sex but I licked for some seconds the penis of my partner – it  happened twice in a week. Did the biosure test after 28 days and was negative. I’m planning to do another one in a week. How reliable they are? I mean have seen previous posst but would like to understand if the 28 days test was useless and how useful it will be the 40 days test. Because 15 days ago got some skin rash (not sure if it’s like the HIV one) but I guess that if that was a symptom, I would have expected the test to detect the antibodies already.
Thanks for you help

Hi Doubtful Yes that's correct if the symptoms were from an HIV infection, regardless of the time from possible infection, then the BioSURE HIV Self Test would detect the antibodies. I hope that this helps. Kind regards Gary

Tx Gary, did again the test yday after 36/43 days and was negative. Will do it again in in a month to be sure, but Guess that if the syntoms 20 days ago were due to infection the test would have detect the antibodies already is it right?

Hi Doubtful Thanks for getting in touch. The test looks for antibodies to HIV rather than the virus itself. People create antibodies at different times in response to HIV infection. After 28 days the probability of getting a reliable negative result is about 50%. After 6 weeks this probability rises to about 95%. Negative results are totally reliable after 12 weeks. I hope that this helps to answer your question. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited
