Thank you for your reply I really do want to move on with my life but then the symptoms I describe appear particularly the floaters in vision, bright red skin lesions and the diahrea or narrow stool. I also then remember the exposure broken condom with hiv positive csw and the onset of seroconversion symptoms. I really cannot cope with much more of this I hate my life now and waking up each day is pure misery. I feel I am simply waiting to die a painful and lonely aids related death and have no where else to turn as the tests do not pick up this strain of hiv.

Hi Stressed01, I strongly believe that you need to put the incident behind you and stop retesting / googling your symptoms as this is only prolonging your acceptance of your negative status. The symptoms you have described could be due to anything and I would not say are related to HIV. I hope this helps. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd

Thanks for the reply I have tested up to 6 months all negative however I still strongly suspect infection due to all ars symptoms at 3 weeks post exposure. These Included skin rash, swollen lymph nodes, night sweats, dry mouth, muscle aching and weight loss. Now ongoing symtons are red spots, swollen lymph nodes, floaters in vision, diahrea and reduction in semen. Is it possible I have contracted a rare strain Elisa tests cannot detect. I also had pcr negative at 10 weeks but there is no other explanation for my symptons.
Also on blood test I had some elevated levels.

Hi Stressed 01
Sorry that we hadn't replied sooner.
The BioSURE HIV Self Test has been validated for the detection of CRF01_ae, so it would have detected HIV infection from this strain of the virus.
I hope that this helps.
Kind regards

Anyone from biosure care to answer this please I am really stressing out after exposure with Asian csw. Tested negative 4 weeks, 8,10,12 all Elisa duo and again using.biosure at 16 weeks. I have had alot of symptoms so is it possible that the current tests are not picking up the strain of HIV
