Still worried.

I have have done five Biosure tests, all of them over a year since exposure. I have also had a fourth generation test done at clinic in UK and all tests came out negative after a year since possible exposure. Yet I can’t seem to get over my irrational fear of still having HIV. Can anyone help? Don’t know what to do anymore.

Reliabilty of tests.

Can someone tell me the reliability of the tests. I have done two well outside the window period. Both negative. How reliable are these? Would anymore testing be needed? Thanks

Hi Worriedlikemad  - The fact that you have done five BioSure tests in itself makes it virtually impossible that all would be wrong. The fact that you have also had a 4th generation test, which will have been a completely different make of test, means that it IS IMPOSSIBLE that all are wrong. Your HIV status is definitely negative. So as you point out your fear that all are wrong is slightly irrational. But, I can assure you that you are not the only person to have had these types of feelings. These feelings are natural given the nature of HIV, but they are misplaced. You do not have HIV. I hope that this helps you move on and accept your negative HIV status. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited
