I'm still worried

Had a low risk event over 8 months ago. Had a test done at my local gum clinic after 25 days followed by 3 biosure self tests at 11, 12 and 26 weeks. For some reason i still cant get rid of the worry that somehow the tests haven’t picked an infection up. I have had some worrying symptoms which i know could be a wide range of things however hiv/aids is always on the list of possible causes, which sends me into a spiral again. Is there any medical or technical reason which would result in 3 false negative results on your test?

Hi StillWorried2. For your own piece of mind I would like to start by saying the chance of getting 1 false negative is very low, 3 false negative tests are virtually impossible. Our test gives a conclusive negative result after 12 weeks, given the time frame of your tests I would call the negative results conclusive. We all have many stresses in our lives but for you HIV is not one. I would recommend against googling symptoms as this causes our brains unnecessary worry. I hope this helps put your mind at rest. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd
