Smudge formed on top of the test strip

Hello.

I tested myself recently, and got a clear control line. However, on the edge above the control line I noticed a smudge like red discoloration having formed.

Is this normal?

Hi testing_times, My sincerest apologies for not replying to you sooner, I have only just noticed that this post was left unanswered. Hope you are well. The test strip can vary in discolouration - some strips are very discoloured as the test runs and sometimes even after the 15 minutes, others are not very discoloured at all. As long as the control line is present, and there is no line/mark where the test line would be positioned then your result is negative and reliable. I hope this helps. Kindest regards, Becky
