Seroconversion symptoms

I had an exposure in Magaluf with a sex worker unprotected. One silly reckless mistake influenced by alcohol. I had a Biosure test at 8 weeks – negative. Still got sore throat, diarrhea, oral thrush. Do you know the latest seroconversion symptoms can appear?

Hi Scared123, firstly thank you for sharing your story, sometimes that is the hardest bit. In regards to seroconversion it is not an easy answer as everyone would seroconvert differently (some showing no symptoms and people converting at different rates) however if your symptoms were a cause of HIV then 7 days after these symptoms appear your result would be positive but there is no way of knowing what is causing the symptoms you have described. A negative test at 8 weeks is extremely encouraging however to confirm this result you will need to retest with BioSure at 12 weeks or alternatively you can visit a GUM clinic and they will be able to use a different generation test. I hope this helps but please don't hesitate to contact me further. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd
