Are my results false negatives?
Hi, 3 weeks after possible exposure I started experiencing swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, oral ulcer, fungal infection on my skin, flu-like symptoms, and fatigue. I used biosure on days 31, 44, 60, 71, and day 84. All 5 biosures were negatives and now my tongue is still white and there are lesions on my tongue. Since I used 5 biosures and all were negative is there a chance of getting false negatives? should I worry about my results? And is there still a need for me to perform another test?

Hi A,
Thank you for leaving your suggestion. However, a negative result at 84+ days with a BioSURE test is just as conclusive as a negative 4th gen lab result 4 weeks post-exposure. We understand that self-testing is not for everyone but for those who would rather test within the privacy of their home, we offer an accurate, reliable and easy-to-use HIV self-test with results in just 15 minutes. Thanks, Becky

Hi Oats97,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Your negative results before 84 days are all really good indications but only your negative result at 84 days is conclusive. Since you have tested on day 84 (outside of the window period) then your negative result is accurate and you do not need to retest. A white tongue may be a sign of HIV infection however if this is the only symptom present, it is more likely to be related to something else. I would recommend visiting your doctor if this symptom persists. Hope this helps, Becky.

Hi,
You need to take a 4th generation test!
Rapid tests are NOT reliable in the first 3 months.
Please, go to a clinic and have a blood-drawn HIV test to be sure.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I’ve been having the same symptoms although they didn’t start until week 6 after possible exposure. I did biosure test at 7 weeks and 8 weeks with negative results . I’ve just done a pcr lab test so I’m hoping for a negative result . The anxiety is killing me. How are you feeling now? Do you have any symptoms?
