Honestly, making myself push down on the lancet was the hardest thing about the whole process. I was so paranoid it would hurt and that I wouldn’t have lined it up properly, but It is pretty idiot proof! It was a sharp pain and deeper than expected but it was over in less than a second. I remember being more taken aback by how loud the click was than by anything else. I would suggest that you place your finger on a hard surface and push it against it as you push the lancet. The test was so simple to read, extremely fast and provided peace of mind. If you have the money to be able to buy a test I would recommend it as it was faster than going to a clinic, you didn’t have to awkwardly wait surrounded by other people and it took minutes rather than 7 days. Plus it takes a huge strain off the NHS.
