Hi Paul Thank you for getting in contact with us. A negative test result at 9 weeks is extremely encouraging. However, because the BioSURE HIV self test detects antibodies to the virus, we can't be 100% certain of a negative result at this time. This is because individuals create antibodies to HIV at different times and for some people this doesn't occur until 12 weeks after exposure. At 9 weeks approximately 96% of people will have produce enough of the antibodies required for a negative result to be absolutely reliable. Unfortunately, to be absolutely certain you will need to retest again in another 3 weeks. I am sorry that we can't offer you a conclusive answer at this time. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to contact me, gcarpenter@biosure.co.uk. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited
