I had encountered a very high risk

I had encountered a very high risk for HIV, I am residing in a country that deports HIV infected people, so I decided to buy biosure and do the test at home, I did my test after 6 weeks and it was negative result , that put me on ease after 6 weeks of anxiety and non sleep, according to the pamphlet the accuracy after 6 weeks is 95%, how likely will that change when I do the retest after another 6 weeks for reassurance?

Hi Meah, If you are to test in another 6 weeks, it is certain that your body will have produced enough antibodies to be detected by the test. At 6 weeks, you're right in saying that 95% of people will have produced antibodies, but every person produces antibodies at different rates. We encourage people to test after 12 weeks post exposure as our test can only be reliable if the person has produced enough antibodies for the test to detect this, and there is no way of knowing whether your body has produced enough. I would suggest waiting another 6 weeks and retesting for a conclusive result. Any more questions, get back in touch. Happy to help, Kindest regards, Becky
