How the test works

Does the positive line show at the same time as the control line?

Hi Dom, Not necessarily no. The test is lateral flow and therefore runs from the bottom up. Usually when an individual who has been HIV positive for a long period of time takes a test, the positive line is very strong and visible and is usually the first line to appear. But if someone is negative, obviously the test line is absent so would not be visible. Kindest regards, Becky
