How accurate is the test after 7 weeks?

I had unprotected sex with a guy I met on a dating app at around 7 weeks ago and have been freaking out about my status ever since. I went to the local sex health centre after 24 days and the result came back negative. They informed that the tests they do are around 95% accurate after this many days. Will this test be more accurate than 95% after 7 weeks?
Thanks

Hi Worried3 Sorry I hadn't replied sooner, somehow I missed this post. Really sorry. Sometimes the coloured substance that is used to create the lines when the test is performed does not get completely washed through the test. The lines for the test can only appear in the positions indicated on the results reading part of the instructions. The mark you describe is not a line. Your test result was definitely negative, although as noted before you should test again after 12 weeks to be absolutely sure of your HIV status. Kind regards Gary

Thanks a lot, Gary! I took the test because the anxiety was killing me and it came back negative. However, there was a very fine line that appeared above and extremely close the control line. What is it?

Hi worried3 Thanks for getting in contact. Your negative test results are extremely encouraging. However, unfortunately the answer is still the same, 95%. The reason is nothing to do with the test per se, but is a function of how an individuals body might react to HIV. The BioSURE HIV Self Test detects antibodies, like all self tests for HIV, rather than the virus itself. The issue arises because each person creates these antibodies at different times. By 8 weeks around 95% of people will have created enough of these antibodies for the tests to work. This proportion increases until at 3 months everyone will have created the antibodies. I hope that this helps to answer your question. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited
