HIV symptoms and testing

Hi there

I just wanted to find out when antibodies are created

Are they created before, after or during primary hiv ars?

I took a biosure self test at around 4 weeks
The test was taken 5 days after i started with sore throat and later a rash no other symptoms. Test was negative
If these where hiv symptoms would the test be positive at this stage with symptoms ?

Hi James. Everyone produces antibodies at different rates however at 4 weeks post possible exposure only 50%of people will have produced these antibodies, compared to 6 weeks where 95% of people have produced them. I would recommend taking another BioSure HIV self tests at 12 weeks post exposure to confirm your negative result as a negative result can only be replied on past this time frame. I hope this helps and please do not hesitate to contact me further. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd
