Help I am worried sick

I have tested negative at around 7 months using the 4th generation test and a home test from BioSure but constantly have symptoms. And now to make it worse the mother of my baby who has symptoms and the baby now has symptoms he has constantly got chest infections and oral thrush that keeps coming back and has had really bad diarrhoea for 10 days and completely off his food and milk. Are my tests wrong after 7 months? What are the chances I actually have HIV and passed it to my wife then she’s passed it to baby at birth. Help me I am so scared.

Hi Help! I think Answering is correct, the likelihood of two false negative results, from different types of tests, performed 7 months after exposure is pretty much impossible. Also it is very likely that your wife was screened for HIV during her pregnancy, as this is common practice now all over the world because anti-retroviral treatments can stop the transmission of the virus between mother and baby. Your symptoms sound as if they might be related to a bacterial infection with the oral thrush due to being very run down. It is definitely best to see a doctor as this could be easily treatable with antibiotics. Good luck and I hope that helps put your mind at rest. Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd

Sounds like you tested two times. 7 months after your risk. I think you need to believe the results. 2 tests would not be wrong - both!? Symptoms in you and your family must not be hiv symptoms. Ask your doctor, I think.
