Had exposure 1.5 year ago. I finally have the courage to do the test. Luckily results came back as negative. But i have been showing various symptoms, chill, joint pain, lymph swollen, headache, nausea. Is the test accurate, should i redo the test again ?

Hi ABC Thanks for getting in touch. There is no need for you to retest. The test is extremely accurate and negative results from tests taken more than 3 months after possible infection are reliable. Generally symptoms of HIV infection are felt within the first few weeks after infection. It would be extremely unusual to have the first symptoms occur 18 months post exposure. I hope that this helps to put your mind at ease. If you require any additional information please don't hesitate to contact us again. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited
