Got myself worked up again

Ok have got myself in a bit of a panic again sorry about this just need to double check I have taken 4 tests after a very low risk exposure it was oral. One at 41 days ( I know it’s outside the window) one at 103 days one at 287 days 313 days. Just i keep getting hung up on the 99.9 accuracy i know the one at 41 days is not conclusive but the other 3 are. Like is it really 1 out of 1000 that get a false negative? Because that seems like quite a high number to me. The days might vary by a week or so working it out from memory from the encounter I can’t remember the exact date.

Hi Worked up, Your negative results at 103, 287 and 313 days are extremely reliable. Oral sex is low risk due to the limited transmission routes. The clinical specificity which is explained by the percentage of correct negative results (1 in 1000) does not necessarily mean that every 1 in 1000 tests will give a false negative result but from performance studies, the test was proven to be able to specifically detect 999 out of 1,000 negative results correctly. 2 false negative results (outside of the window period) are extremely rare but 3 false negative results I would say are near to impossible. I hope this helps to put your mind at rest, if you need any further information or clarification please let me know below. Thank you. Kindest regards, Becky
