HIV rash

I went to a GUM clinic and tested negative for HIV 12 weeks after exposure I have had a large rash for about four weeks now. On average how long does the HIV rash last – is it 1-2 weeks or is it longer?

Hi Curious45, On average a HIV rash last 2-3 weeks but this may be shorter. A negative result from a GUM clinic 12 weeks post exposure is conclusive. Your rash is likely to be totally unrelated and I would recommend that if it persists to visit your GP to get this looked at. Kindest regards, Becky, BioSURE UK LTD
