Could medication affect result?

Hi, l took a test a few months ago. My test showed negative. However I was taking medication for a mouth sores called Nystan. Would this have effected the results. Could you please advise. Many thanks.

Hi Worried Guy 4, Thanks for getting in touch with us. There are really only two things that can affect the result of a BioSURE HIV Self Test: one is anti-retroviral treatment for HIV and the other would be if you had been vaccinated against HIV. HIV vaccines are at the experimental stages of design so you would only have had this if you had been part of a vaccine research trial. I hope that this answers your question.
