Blood spreading at bottom of test

Hi I completed my test and after 15 minutes it was very clearly negative. I then left test lying down but upside down and when I looked at it again there was a red smudge at the bottom of the test. It was red not pink and wasn’t a straight line it was like a smudge. I was worried so I opened the test up and the smudge wiped off. Was this blood ?

Hi NLR, The red smudge at the very bottom of the strip as described is simply where the blood sample has travelled up the strip and has almost bound to the behind of the bottom pad on the test strip. It is nothing to worry about, as long as there is only the single control line and no line where the test line would be positioned, then your result is negative and is accurate. I hope this helps to ease your worries. Kindest regards, Becky
