Biosure concern

Hi I took the rapid test on 21 October but didn’t follow the instructions properly. I lay the test down after 1 min. The test seemed to work and the control line appeared. After the 15 mins I realised my mistake and stood it up for another 15 without any change. Is this a valid result given the control line appeared.

Hi Stevob Thank you for getting in touch with your question. The test actually works just as well if you lie it down. The reason that we stipulate that the test is run standing up is to minimise the possibility of spillage of the buffer solution. There is excess buffer solution so the test can lose about half of the buffer and still work correctly. So, we say that standing the test upright while it runs is good, but not critical to the test operation and outcome. The presence of the control line is a critical part of the test. The fact that your test generated a control line means that it HAS run correctly and your result is valid. I hope that this helps. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited
