Anxiety/Swollen lymph node - BioSure
I had paid protected sex (couple of times) about 6 years ago and back then I believe I had fever within a week after first exposure. I also have a swollen lymph node back of my neck for more than 6 years. I recently tested using Biosure and the result was negative but I am still anxious. Is the test accurate after 6 years and can a HIV lymph node remain swollen for so long?

Hi 249ER,
I believe that the line that you are referring to is actually just a red smudge due to the migration of blood. This is probably due to you knocking the test over but is nothing to worry about and cannot affect your result.
Kindest regards,

Hi there I did the bio sure test today and there was no positive line below the control line, however after about 10 minutes the test fell over ( I knocked it) and a small squiggly
Thin line appears under where the positive line would be.
Do I need to worry or take this as a negative?
Thanks

Hi anxious person, I will start by putting your mind at rest and saying that your BioSURE HIV self test is conclusive and there will be no need to retest. You #KnowYourStatus. Secondly protected sex is extremely low risk (if using barrier contraception). Finally I would like to recommend you visiting your GP in regards to your lymph nodes just to rule out anything serious. I hope this helps and thank you for choosing BioSure. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd
