About to lose my job

Hi I think I’ve actually lost my mind. I stupidly had unprotected sex – one night stand (vaginal) – I’m the woman. I had a lab test done at 16 days cause I started crying at the doctor’s office, I had a rapid test 4th gen at 26 and 30 days/ 30 days confirmed by lab, an antibody test at 47 days and 4th gen rapid test at 54 days. All have come back negative but I can’t stop having bad panic attacks even though I’ve been given medication and I’ve had to miss a few days of work. My GP and local clinic have advised not to do anymore tests until 90 days and I panicked and ordered loads of tests. Even though I’m not at 3 months yet can I still use biosure to check my status?

Hi there. You have done the right thing and have tested. It seems as though you have had numerous tests all coming back as negative, I am unable to comment on the accuracy and reliability of the tests. You can rely on a negative result from a BioSure HIV self test 12 weeks post possible exposure and a positive test result can always be relied on. I would recommend waiting till the 12 week window period as this would be the conclusive negative result you need. Remember that HIV is a treatable condition and as long as you know your status you can live a long and healthy life. I hope this helps put your mind at rest and thank you for choosing BioSure. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) Ltd
