I had unprotected hand job

I had an unprotected hand job and have been worried about HIV and STDs. I took the bio self-test at 7 weeks which was negative also had a test a local GUM clinic at 3 weeks. Would this be accurate?

Hi Bob01, The type of exposure which you have described would be considered an extremely low to no risk of HIV transmission. Since HIV is most commonly transmitted via bodily fluids, unless your sexual partner had an open wound or their own bodily fluids on their hands it is unlikely that transmission occurred. Even if they had, it is still very unlikely for transmission to occur. A negative BioSure result at 7 weeks is a very good indication that you are HIV negative, although a negative result is not conclusive until 12 weeks. I hope this helps. Kindest regards, Becky
