Oral Surgery Princess Alexandra Hospital

First class service today in day surgery unit, all staff extremely friendly and professional. I was very anxious about my teenage son having surgery even though very minor, but as soon as I entered the unit I felt he was in safe hands. Only one small issue was that I wanted Consultant to do his op and had thought that would be case given outpatient discussion and fact that Consultant came to see him pre-op. It appears that another surgeon whom we had not met performed the operation and this undermined my confidence in the ‘informed consent process’ a little. The aneasthetist was fantastic and so thorough and reassuring to my son and me and even though a minor op they gave plenty of time for any questions and concerns to be raised and discussed.
