Story of a relative starving to death..
My mother-in-law was starved to death in hospital (not in Essex) aged 87 after major surgery. She was unable to lift a cup let alone knife or fork. The nurses (if you could find one) said that visitors had to feed the patients at visiting time (all afternoon and evening). We lived two and a half hours drive away and couldn’t get there every day. What sort of “health service” is this? What is the point of paying huge salaries to consultants and nurses, if you are going to then starve the patient to death?
