Tested negative but shortly after 15 min a faint line appeared above the purple control line. What does that mean? Just to confirm there was nothing below the control line where results would be.

Hi Lo Thank you for contacting us. The symptoms around early HIV infection are caused by the process of antibody production. The BioSURE HIV Self Test detects these antibodies. So, if you had seroconversion symptoms that were due to HIV infection, then the result of your self test would have been positive. We give the 3 month "window period" only because individuals go through this antibody production process any time up to 3 months. I hope that this helps and I do not see the need for you to test again. Kind regards Gary Carpenter Head of Clinical & Regulatory Affairs BioSure (UK) Limited
