Hi Biosure team. I have done a Biosure test well outside of the window period. The control line was smudged – like there is an extra line directly beneath the control line. I know my test came out negative, but what could cause this extra line?
Reading this comment has answered my question. I almost thought I received an invalid negative because the the tesst sucked a lot of blood but the sample was spread at the bottom of the test therefore making the intensity of the line poor compared to the sample lines I received before when doing this test which left me with doubt as I wondered if it was enough for strip to detect an infection.
Hi Justwondering,
The control line can sometimes appear as two lines directly under one another. This is simply due to the nature of the test and is nothing to worry about - the appearance of the control line can vary from user to user, depending on how much blood was supplied and the time at which the user reads the result etc. As long as the control line is visible then your test has worked properly and your negative result is accurate.
I hope this helps.
Becky
