Hi I’m on my 11th week after potentially being exposed to hiv I took a self test at home and after I put the solution in I shook the test to make sure the blood goes through, I want to find out if shaking the test will make the result differ from the actual result? Or would the result be accurate?

Hi BLW,
As much as we would recommend not to shake the test, it does not help the blood to travel through any more than normal, it will not affect your result.
Your result will still be accurate but at 11 weeks, remember that you are still in the BioSure window period so please be sure to retest 12 weeks post exposure for a conclusive result.
All the best,
Becky, BioSURE UK
