positive test line?
Hi I was just wondering if it is possible for a positive test line to disappear, I tested but forgot to look at the result for over an hour after, the result was negative so would the definitely be negative or could it be possible that it was positive then disappeared. Thanks

Hi Maydaymayday, thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately we cannot answer you about Autotest, only about the BioSURE HIV Self Test. With our test, a positive test line does not disappear and it could be the case that perhaps your camera flash has reflected the area where the test line is sprayed during manufacturing. This ‘invisible’ sprayed line is where the test would react if there were antibodies to HIV in your blood sample. Sorry we can’t help more, but hope that helps. Hello Gary, yesterday i talked a bit about past sexual encounters with a friend and remembered that two years ago, i had unprotected vaginal intercourse with a women twice. I really panicked today and bought an Autotest VIH self test. After 20 Minutes only the control line showed. However, i took a picture so i had future proof. When i checked the picture a few hours later, i noticed an incredibly faint second line (or rather one half of it), but i really had to look for it. I immediately got the test and inspected it, also using the flash of my phone. But no matter what angle i looked at it, i could not see the second line, and i also couldn't get it to show up on photos anymore.
You said it is impossible for a positive line to disappear. However you are probably refering to the Biosure self test. Since i took the Autotest VIH, could it be possible that the line disappeared but i'm positive? http://hivst.org/tools/package-inserts-and-instructions-for-use Both tests are listed on that page, the biosure below the autotest. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Unsure
Yes you can be reassured that your negative test result is reliable, accurate and valid.
I hope that this helps to put your mind at ease.
Kind regards
Gary

Hi positive test line
Thanks for getting in touch.
A positive line will NOT disappear. We can absolutely guarantee that once a line is there it will not disappear. We have tests that have a very clear positive test line years after the tests have been conducted.
However, the reverse is possible. A very small number of negative tests may show a faint test line after an hour has elapsed.
But the test and control line will not disappear once they are there.
I hope that this answers your question.
Kind regards
Gary Carpenter
