how many people have had false negatives?

Hi, I would like to know how many people have had false negatives to date after testing outside of the window period? I have tested at 16 weeks after possible exposure, result was negative. I am not on any medication such as Prep, the result was definitely negative, checked the result after 15 mins, so I would like to know if I should test again knowing that I have checked all the possible reasons that might cause a false negative and still got a negative result?

Hi Past User, Unfortunately we cannot disclose this type of information and even if we could we cannot be sure of the exact figures as unless they are reported to us, we do not have the exact data. If you have tested outside of the window period and are not on any medication that can cause cross reactivity of results then your negative result is reliable and conclusive. Usually only false negative results are reported to us when users have tested inside of the window period. If you want to be sure you can of course retest, 2 negative results are more certain however if I were you I would take my negative result as conclusive and try to put this behind you. I hope this information helps, if you have any other questions please leave them below. Kindest regards, Becky
