google made it worse

meeeen! thank God i came across this page. am on my last week of pep medication. i had unprotected sex some weeks back and i really convinced myself my partner is infected coz it was a one night stand on a very drunk evening and as i can recall some vivid images of the girl she had some blisters on her forehead. something that through google i confirmed was an HIV blister. from that day i have experienced all the signs of HIV from mouth thrush, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, stuffed ears, joint pain, stomach upsets, fever, tiredness, pale skin, red rash…then on the 12th day i also tested positive for gonorrhea. i tell u my friends i have been so afraid and almost lost my mind coz sleep also became a problem. google made it worse coz every time i learnt of a new symptom the same day i felt it develop on my body. let google only be used for searching exam answers not signs for Hiv.

Hi Ras, Google is a nightmare for self-diagnosis, and often only heightens anxiety. You can use the BioSure HIV self-test to test yourself if you are worried, however you would have to wait until the window period is up - 12 weeks - for a conclusive result. I would recommend that if you are too anxious to wait 12 weeks to visit a GUM clinic to get your result sooner. Kindest regards, Becky, BioSURE UK LTD
