Hi KS, From the description of your exposure, it is very unlikely that transmission occurred. HIV can enter through an open cut or sore, but blood from the open wound on your hand would have to come into direct contact with the mucous membrane of your partner's vagina. The risk of your open wound being exposed to HIV infection is very unlikely and there is of course a high chance that your sexual partner is not HIV positive. It is great that you have taken the initiative to test following an exposure, a negative result at 4 weeks is a good indication of your status but you must retest at 12 weeks for a conclusive result.
