10 years ago I met a guy

10 years ago I met a guy on 5 different occasions. We had unprotected Oral sex on each occasion and one time he ejaculated a little in my mouth. We also had very brief protected penetrative anal sex and I was the recipient.
I got tested after these encounters and was negative.

8 years ago my wife had an indeterminate test when she was pregnant. The midwife never really explained what this meant and so we thought everything was OK and put it out of our minds. I’ve recently read that this can sometimes happen and that a second test is usually carried out. I can’t recall my wife having a second test.

Due to health issues (weak limbs, shortness of breath, dry mouth, white tongue, B12 deficiency and I’m positive I have Oral Hairy leukoplakia) Recently I’ve become anxious that I actually caught HIV all them years ago. I also get worried every time my wife and kids get ill.

In the past few months I’ve done 3 Biosure tests and they were all negative. I’ve also had a 4th gen test carried out at a GUM clinic which again was negative.

Is there any chance that all the tests are wrong?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi worried Mark, Any BioSure test after 12 weeks post exposure is accurate and conclusive. If all HIV tests that you have taken are negative then there is no need to worry about your HIV status or further transmission. If your possible exposure was over 10 years ago, then any negative result would be conclusive. And if any transmission occurred ten years ago, then you would start to see signs of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). 1 of the tests being wrong is possible but 4 tests all showing a false negative would be very unlikely, especially given the time period in between your exposure and testing. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Kindest regards, Becky BioSURE UK LTD
