I tested negative at 8 weeks

I tested negative at 8 weeks with a 4th Gen test, blood drawn from arm. my only possible exposure was giving a blow job to what i though was a straight male and I found out he was gay so now I’m in a panic. he didn’t ejaculate but I did taste pre cum and then I stopped. after this, I have been getting dry mouth and muscle and joint pain. I am at 11 weeks now, should I just wait it out until 12 weeks and get retested

Hi Worry Wart, From the type of exposure you have described there is a very very low risk of HIV transmission. However, it is always better to be safe and test yourself after any exposure with a sexual partner of unknown status. Usually the 4th generation tests that are carried out at clinics/hospitals have a shorter window period and therefore a result at 8 weeks may be conclusive. However, if you are wishing to retest using our test I would recommend to wait until the 12 weeks as if you are at 11 weeks now, it is only another week or so - you may as well wait and get a conclusive result. Kindest regards, Becky, BioSURE UK LTD
