Can I still test?

Please help me, I had un-protected sex about 2 years ago. My partner at the time are no longer together and now I am having doubts and keep thinking I may have HIV. Can I still have any tests to tell me ?

Hi S4mmy, of course you can test and hopefully this will put your mind at rest. You could visit your local sexual health clinic or even test at home, all tests look for antibodies for HIV which if present will still be picked up 2 years later giving you a positive result. I would recommend using a BioSure HIV self test if you want to test at home however if you wish to use an alternative self test make sure that it is CE marked. I hope this helps. Kindest regards Francesca Bard, BioSure (UK) LTD
