Am I negative?

Desperate2know  Hi, I am a worried female who has had a possible exposure to hiv, I didnt develop any symptoms except weight loss and a whitish coating on tongue (thrush). I took my first test for hiv 1/hiv 2 antibody rapid prick test 8 weeks since my exposure, it was done using a tri-dot test which also tests for syphilis too, all came back negative how reassuring and certain is my result? Thank u

I heard about tri-dot test and i thought this information might be a help. it looks like you can trust the result if the test is after 3 months. http://helpline.aidsvancouver.org/what-we-do/helpline/online/tri-dot-test-accuracy

Hi Desperate2Know Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, I do not have any real knowledge of the test that was performed on you, so it is very difficult for me to help in this instance. I can only suggest that you contact the manufacturer of that product directly. Once again, I'm really sorry that I cannot help you in this instance. Kind regards Gary Carpenter BioSure (UK) Limited
